In the Northwest in the spring you can see large beds of creeping phlox blooming, which is what this painting
was based on. The butterfly is a Karner tailed blue butterfly. If you look them up, I took some artistic license and put them on my Northwestern flowers…they are from
the Northeast…but the colors looked so well together… maybe phlox grows well there too.
